Lakers, Kobe Rout Wizards!

At the end of the first quarter of today's game at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., you could have just taken Kobe Bryant's four Lakers teammates out of the scoring mix and they still would have been winning! Pau Gasol's sore back prevented him from playing his first game as a Laker, but it hardly mattered as Bryant outscored the Wizards 19-15 by himself in the first quarter as the Lakers built a 30-15 lead. Kobe added ten more points in the second quarter to help give the Lakers a 63-41 halftime margin. From there, Kobe let the rest of the team got involved in the scoring. By games' end four other Lakers reached double-digits in the point column, with the Lakers cruising to a 103-91 victory to take their second straight win on their crucial nine game road trip. The Lakers fly to New Jersey to take on the Nets Tuesday night. First though, they will make like the rest of us and take some time to watch Super Bowl XLII pitting the New England Patriots and New York Giants.
