Little did I know what a treat I was in for when I purchased tickets to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul 2 Soul concert tour stop by the Honda Center (formerly the Pond) in Anaheim. As it turned out (I didn't know at the time), this was the last show of their 2007 tour. Needless to say, when I found this out I knew I was in for a truly special night...
A new group on Tim's label called Halfway To Hazard opened with a very energetic half hour set right at 8:30. FYI, their debut album, featuring their first single, "Daisy" hits the stores this Tuesday. A few minutes after 9pm, the much celebrated husband and wife duo took the stage, doing a cover of the recent pop hit "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol... Tim then left the stage, and Faith then put on a great solo show which lasted a little over an hour, starting with her first #1 hit, "Wild One" and finishing off with her #1 hit "Mississippi Girl." In between, Faith threw in a nice selection of her hits. "Breathe," "The Secret Of Life," "Cry" and "This Kiss" were amongst the songs she did during her more than one hour set. A couple of really touching moments took place during Faith's portion of the show. In one of them, Faith was shaking hands with various audience members and noticed this one particular young woman who had been to her shows before... Faith said "I remember you from last year, and the year before and the year before..." Obviously, she was a HUGE fan! Faith then said "thank you... you're a beautiful woman" to her... and you should have seen her smile! A little later, Faith brought a group of young girls onto the stage... that just made their day!
