We're halfway through the 2007 Masters and there have been a lot of surprises already. The best story of the day was 1992 Masters champion Fred Couples salvaging par on the 18th hole to make his 23rd consecutive cut in the tournament - tying the great 3-time Masters winner Gary Players' record. Congratulations, Freddie!!! Another nice story is that three 50-something players made the cut - Craig Stadler, Ben Crenshaw and Sandy Lyle. For a few big names, however, the week ended early: Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Colin Montgomerie, Michael Campbell, Chris DiMarco, Darren Clarke and Thomas Bjorn all missed the cut.
The Leaderboard remains a little out of the ordinary to this point - Brett Wetterlich and 2006 runner-up Tim Clark share the midway lead at two under par. Where are the big names? Well, Vijay Singh lurks only two strokes back at level par. Tiger Woods sits only five back at +3, while defending champ Phil Mickelson is seven back at +5.
Round three begins with the first pairing going off at 10am ET/7am PT.
