2'sday Nite Special Edition!

I have to confess that I just ran out of time this morning... I had about 25 things I wanted to get done and only managed to take care of about 15 of them. Ah the joys of mandatory overtime at work.

Anyways, something really cool happened in the Angels/Houston Astros baseball game last night. Not only did the Angels come back from a 9-4 deficit agains the Astros, but outfielder Chone Figgins went 6 for 6!!! It's very rare for a player to get five hits in a game, let alone 6... Appropriately, Figgins had the game winning hit - a triple which scored Reggie Willits - in the bottom of the 9th inning (about 2 minutes after I fell asleep) in a 10-9 Angels triumph.

In the "almost comeback" department, the Washington Nationals were down last night by a 9-1 margin to the Detroit Tigers at RFK Stadium... Four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning made the game a respectable 9-5 score. The Nats plated three more runs in the bottom of the ninth before an out was recorded... The red-hot Dmitri Young, along with Austin Kearns and Ronnie Belliard all had chances to tie or possibly win the game for the Nats, but they all made outs and the comeback came up a buck short...

This is one of the biggest new music release days in recent memory... a little something for everyone as multi-platinum artists Brad Paisley, Bon Jovi, Lifehouse and Mandy Moore all dropped new albums today... Who is going to sell the most? If I were a betting person, I'd probably go with Paisley...

Now, from the BREAKING NEWS department - OK, more like the BREAKING local news department... the aforementioned Lifehouse just released their new "Who We Are" CD earlier today... You probably know of them best for their huge #1 pop hit from 2001, "Hanging By A Moment" and their #4 hit from 2005, "You And Me." Their new CD features their brand new hit called "First Time." So what's the BIG news??? Well, these guys are going to be playing a LIVE acoustic set at the Best Buy in my hometown of Thousand Oaks tomorrow night!!! Since Lifehouse has been one of my favorite bands since their debut, I will just have to make an appearance... Needless to say, my after work gym date tomorrow night will have to get a rain check. Here are the details on the event:
