Bruins top Cardinal!

For the #2 ranked UCLA Bruin basketball team, their game against the Stanford Cardinal tonight at Pauley Pavilion was definitely a test of intestinal fortitude. A minute into the game, Kevin Love made a lay-up to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead. Over the next 3 1/2 minutes, Stanford would go on a 12-0 run, and the Bruins would be playing catch-up the rest of the night. The Bruins trailed 30-18 at halftime and were still down 56-45 with only 5:37 to play. A 16-5 Bruin run over the next 5:17 tied the game at 61. Two free throws by Darren Collison with less than three seconds to play tied the game at 63 and sent it into overtime. In the extra five minute period, the home team dominated, routing the Cardinal 14-4 to win going away 77-67. With the win, the Bruins locked up the Pac-10 title, and more than likely the #1 seed in the West when the seedings are announced for March Madness!
