The UCLA Bruins jumped quickly to a 41-20 halftime lead against Western Kentucky in the NCAA's "March Madness" regional in Pheonix yesterday. They then had to hang on as a furious rally by the Hilltoppers, some poor play and a few questionable officiating calls helped whittle the lead down to a four point margin (61-57) with just under seven minutes to play. The Bruins though regrouped, and thanks mostly to some good defense and timely shooting from Kevin Love (29 points, 14 points, 4 blocks) won going away 88-78. Next up for the Bruins in the round of 8 is Xavier, which romped to a relatively easy 79-60 win over Tennessee.
