There were some CRAZY results in the NCAA games this weekend. Who in the world would have thought a 13-16 Georgia Bulldog team would be able to somehow sweep through the SEC conference tournament?? A tornado at the Georgia Dome on Friday caused them to change venues and play a doubleheader on Saturday. They swept through both of those games and then defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks yesterday afternoon to become the lowest seed to win the league since the SEC split into divisions in 1992. The now 17-16 Bulldogs got rewarded for their efforts with a #14 seed in the West Region of the tournament against Xavier.
Meantime, my UCLA Bruins secured the #1 seed in that same West Region with a 67-64 win over Stanford in the Pac-10 tournment on Saturday. Noth Carolina, Kansas and Memphis are the other number one seeds. I'll be making my picks in the brackets shortly... should I go with UCLA vs Georgetown again? Well, they both made the final four last year, and both are 1 or 2 seeds again this year, so maybe. Then again neither team has impressed me a lot of late. Yes, my Bruins have won 10 straight, but consider five of their last six wins were very close games, all of which they could have lost!
